MILLET IMPLEMENTS RESTRICTION EXEMPTION PROGRAM

The Government of Alberta has declared a state of public health emergency, and starting Sept. 20, 2021 will adopt a Restriction Exemption Program.
The Town of Millet will participate in the program and visitors (aged 18 years and older) will be required to provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or a negative PCR or rapid test (privately-paid, completed within the last 72 hours) when visiting the following facilities:
- Millet Agriplex
- Millet Community Hall
- Millet Fire Hall
What does this mean:
- Please be prepared to provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or a negative PCR/rapid test that has been privately paid for within the last 72 hours.

Additional provincial public health measures are also in effect to help reduce transmission. The public is encouraged to get vaccinated, visit the Government of Alberta’s website for more information and to stay up to date. It’s a program that the Government of Alberta rolled out on Sept. 20 to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It will allow businesses and organizations an opportunity to continue providing services without reducing capacity limits.
Why is the Town participating in the Restriction Exemption Program?
The Government of Alberta declared a state of public health emergency on September 15th and introduced a new Restriction Exemption Program that will allow businesses and organizations to continue to operate without limiting capacity. Businesses that choose not to participate in the program will need to follow a number of capacity and operating restrictions. In order to continue serving a greater number of residents, the Town of Millet has decided to participate in the Restriction Exemption Program.
Why is the Town asking for proof of vaccination?
The Government of Alberta has declared a state of public health emergency and introduced a Restriction Exemption Program that will allow businesses and organizations to ask for proof of vaccination, medical exemption or a negative PCR or rapid test (completed within the last 72 hours) instead of reducing capacity limits. The Town has decided to participate in the program in order to continue serving our community. Respectfully, Town staff will ask for proof of vaccination, medical exemption or a negative PCR or rapid test (completed within the last 72 hours) at the entrance of Millet Agriplex, Community Hall and Fire Hall.
Why do I need to wear a mask if I am vaccinated?
According to guidelines from the Government of Alberta, organizations that choose to implement the Restriction Exemption Program must continue to follow indoor mandatory masking requirements.
