This is notification that the Town of Millet will be setting traps at certain points along the waterways in Millet where beaver dams are located. The traps will be set by a professional trapper and located where the beaver has created a dam. A reminder to all residents who see these dams or traps: it is dangerous and unlawful to tamper with any equipment set out to protect waterways and town assets. This could lead to injury or be subject to investigation for damage. Dog owners are strongly advised to leash their pets when in lesser-traveled marshy areas. Traps are placed in ditches and ravines and are kept away from public trails and off-leash areas for the protection of dogs, park users and other wildlife. The traps will be set May 15, 2023, and monitored daily until removed from the areas in question.
