Town Operations Being Maintained During COVID-19 Crisis

During the current coronavirus pandemic, the Town of Millet’s buildings will remain closed until further notice. We consider this step is necessary in order to safeguard and protect both our citizens and our staff.

Despite this, we do want to assure all of our residents that the Town will be doing its best to continue our services to you during this difficult time. All staff will be working from home, and all telephone calls received during regular business hours will be answered as normal (780-387-4554). Envelopes and payments placed into our drop box at the Administration Office will be collected daily and handled promptly. Payments can also be made online, or through telephone banking via your bank.

Specifically, we wish to notify you that each of the following services will continue to operate as normal, unless we issue a specific notice to the contrary on our official website at a later date:
Garbage Collection (every Friday)
Organics Collection (March 30th 2020 and every 2nd Monday thereafter)
Blue Bag Recycling Collection (March 23rd 2020 and every 2nd Monday thereafter)
Street Plowing (when necessary)
ByLaw Enforcement (24 hour ByLaw No. 780-387-4224)
Playgrounds and Parks
Outdoor Rinks
Waste Transfer Station (45th Avenue) – due to no location able to provide vouchers, Millet residents will have to leave their name and civic address and we will have to bill for the $20 voucher)

If our citizens have cause to seek 24-hour emergency services for water, sewer or street issues, please report these to our on-call personnel at 780-916-6591.

The past 2 weeks has been a time of much uncertainty for our staff in trying to deal with and respond to the almost hourly changes brought upon us through the fast evolving pandemic. We have to applaud each and every one of them for the hard work and flexibility they have shown, and the long hours they have expended, in their efforts to continue services for our residents. We are, indeed, very fortunate to have such dedicated individuals working on our behalf!

We anticipate that, until this pandemic shows obvious signs of improvement, there will be more announcements that the Town will be making that will have further impact upon our citizens. Please note that we will be using our official Town of Millet website to make these announcements.

Stay Well and Stay Safe!
